FC 27 leaks are doing the rounds again, and this time it doesn't feel like the usual kit talk or ratings noise. Ultimate Team may be getting proper system changes, the kind that hit menus, rewards, and the way people spend FC 27 Coins during the first few sweaty weeks.
SBCs may stop feeling like maths homeworkThe biggest rumour is the new SBC setup. Instead of chasing exact chemistry lines and weird rating gaps, each card could carry a point value. You'd drop players in, hit the needed total, and submit. Sounds cleaner, yeah. But players aren't dumb. If one cheap 84 suddenly becomes the perfect points filler, the market will spot it in about five minutes. That's where things could get spicy, because a simpler SBC screen doesn't always mean a cheaper SBC grind.
1. Fodder prices could move faster.
2. Club depth may matter more.
3. Lazy submitting might get punished.
Evolutions sound less boring this yearThis part has people interested for a reason. Linear upgrades got stale. You picked a path, waited, played the matches, and half the time the card still felt average.
The leaked branching Evolution system would be a much better fit for how people actually build teams. Maybe you turn a winger into a pace-and-crossing machine. Maybe your mate uses the same card and pushes shooting instead. That small choice matters. It gives cards a bit of personality, which Ultimate Team has badly needed. The rumoured undo option is just as important. Nobody wants to ruin a club favourite because one upgrade path looked good on a Friday night.
Collections could pull people away from pure meta squadsA sticker-book style feature would be a clever move, if EA doesn't bury the good stuff behind ridiculous pack luck. Club collections, nation sets, account-bound rewards, that sort of thing. It's old-school, but in a good way.
FeatureLikely player reactionMain risk
Point based SBCsFaster buildingMarket spikes
Branching EvolutionsMore personal cardsBad upgrade balance
Collection bookMore reasons to grindToo much pack pressure
If exclusive cards are tied to collection progress, people may actually keep more players in the club instead of dumping everything into the next gamble SBC. That'd change the feel of early Ultimate Team quite a bit.
The playstyle debate is not going awayGameplay is still the awkward bit. Loads of players already feel that some cards play above their stats because of traits, body type, or hidden feel. If FC 27 leans even harder into playstyles, the gap between what a card shows and how it moves in-game could get wider.
1. Stats may tell less of the story.
2. Traits could decide close matches.
3. Casual players may feel lost.
Alex Hunter and Icons add some extra noiseThe rumoured return of Alex Hunter is a funny one. Some players will roll their eyes, but plenty still remember The Journey. A more open mode could work if it isn't just cutscenes and jogging around a hub. Add leaked Icons like Sergio Agüero into the mix, and EA clearly wants FC 27 to feel bigger than another menu refresh. Whether that lands depends on rewards, pacing, and whether the mode gives Ultimate Team players a real reason to care.
The market will be the real stress testAll these ideas sound decent on paper, but Ultimate Team lives and dies by economy pressure. If SBC points, Evolutions, and collections all need steady resources, players will track prices harder than ever, compare rewards, and talk about where to buy Fut 27 Coins when the grind starts feeling rough, especially during launch promos and early Icon hype.
